LVMH Appoints Sylvie Colin as Kenzo’s CEO

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has appointed Sylvie Colin as the chief executive officer of its luxury brand Kenzo, effective as of September 25.

Before coming to Kenzo, Colin was the head of SMCP group’s ready-to-wear brand Maje. She will be replacing Eric Marechalle, who is set to take over at Marc Jacobs – another brand in the group’s portfolio – on October 1, succeeding Sebastian Suhl.

“We would like to welcome Sylvie to Kenzo,” said Pierre-Yves Roussel, chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group. “In partnership with [creative directors] Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Sylvie will further pursue and amplify the very strong momentum of the brand.”

The appointment of the new CEO is hoped to speed up Kenzo’s expansion in Japan, China and the US. “The objective is to really continue the momentum … We really believe there is a lot of potential there, given the size of the market and our price point,” said Roussel.
