The Ritz-Carlton has opened its first hotel in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
The opening coincided with the Astana EXPO-2017 International Exposition, which starts June 10.
“We are excited to be launching The Ritz-Carlton in this flourishing capital and can’t wait to help our guests discover what made The New York Times call Astana one of the 52 places to visit in 2017,” said Hervé Humler, president and COO at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
“With the highly anticipated international exposition, Astana EXPO-2017, expected to draw 3 to 4 million visitors to the city this summer, there is no better time to introduce The Ritz-Carlton, Astana and showcase this as a destination with a bright future.”
Located in the Talan Towers, the hotel boasts 157 guest rooms, including 32 suites and 27 residences, all with panoramic city views. For cuisine, the Russian-based restaurant group White Rabbit Family brings Selfie Astana, which offers fine dining experience on the 18th floor. Executive chef Andre Piednoir, who has over 30-years’ experience around the world and was formerly stationed in the Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, will be heading the kitchen. A club lounge is also available on the 14th floor, while meetings and events are held in the 1,000sqm ballroom as well as business and banquet amenities.
“Much like the monument it overlooks, The Ritz-Carlton, Astana represents the future of Astana and acknowledges the city’s growing power and prominence,” said Humler.
The Ritz-Carlton, Astana is owned by Verny Capital Group.
